The TOPSY MATCH was a popular effect back in the day when everyone smoked and carried around wooden matches.It is a wonderful example of careful craftsmanship to make a prop that is so deceptive, even close up!
The idea is that the magician shows an ordinary wooden match, and a narrow tube.He places the match HEAD DOWN into the tube.Yet when the match emerges out the other end, it has REVERSED iteslf, and is now HEADS UP.
From the product photo, you can see the secret- the match actually has a HEAD on both ends.Most likely handcrafted by this company (Master Magic), the workmanship is wonderful.The graphics on the box are great as well!This would make a really eyecatching addition to your collection of vintage magic tricks!
CONDITION: very good. Looks barely used.The box shows a bit of shelf wear- but it is nearly 100 years old!
