A Dye Tube is the utility item that lets you change one silk for another, for example. In this case, you would have a rolled-up paper in your hand. You would place a red silk (for example) into the paper tube. Then you would reach into the other end of the tube and pull out a BLUE silk.Secretly using the Dye Tube which is hidden inside the rolled paper, of course. After producing the blue silk, you would palm the dye tube away, allowing you to crumple up the paper tube, proving the tube is empty.
The benefit of the plunger style dye tube is that when you first put the red silk into the tube, by pushing the silk into one end of the tube, the plunger inside the dye tube will push out the blue silk, making the transformation of the silks smooth and effortless.
