The illusion is this:Place the four puzzle pieces next to each other so they form a rectangle.You'll see a vintage illustration of a hen and some eggs.Count the eggs- there will be NINE eggs.
Now switch the positions of the two top pieces, leaving the bottom two pieces where they are.Now count the eggs- there are now only EIGHT eggs!Where did the other egg go??
BUT WAIT- THERE'S MORE!Place the top two pieces back in their original positions.Now switch the positions of the two bottom pieces, leaving the top two pieces where they are.Now count the eggs- there are now TEN eggs!Where did those two other eggs come from??
And when you put the puzzle pieces back in their original positions- there are NINE eggs again!
