Because this glass was never used and never had any liquid in it, we did not want to alter the pristine condition of the glass by putting milk in it. So Peter Monticup demonstrates the effect using a white playing card to represent the milk.In actual performance, you would of course fill the glass with liquid.
The concept of this great stage prop is to create the illusion that you can pull DRY silks from a visibly WET glass. And as you can see from the demo, you can fit A LOT of silks and streamers into the glass!
This is meant for stage, to be seen at a distance. The design of the glass is also very sparkly under stage lights- it shows up very well.
Here is a tip: When loading the silks into the glass, end by putting a sponge ball on top of the silks. The sponge ball will help keep the silks compressed and hidden, and will look natural as the first thing you pull from the glass.
