When you pick it up again, it is filled with milk or other liquid!
Or, You can vanish a dollar bill borrowed from a spectator, take the empty mason jar and place it behind your hat, and when you pick it up again, the bill is INSIDE the jar!

In essence, this is a clever way to produce an item from a previously empty jar.
And being an official U.F. Grant creation, it is quite a treasure for the vintage magic collector
