*Tenyo Tricks

Tenyo has been creating clever, innovative magic for generations, and many of its distinctive closeup tricks have become sought-after collector's items.

The story began in 1931, when Japanese magician Matsutaro Yamada, professionally known as Tenyo Shokyokusai, began manufacturing and marketing his own magic effects. In 1953, his son Akira Yamada founded the Tenyo Magic Research Institute to develop new concepts and props for magicians.

In 1970, the company officially became Tenyo Ltd. Inventors including Hideo Kato, Shigeru Sugawara and Hiroshi Kondo helped establish Tenyo's reputation for ingenious magic props and unusual visual effects.
