And exactly HOW does it work??

Here's the science behind how the Silly Spinner works:The SILLY SPINNER is a "rattleback rod", a semi-ellipsoidal spinning top which will rotate normally on its axis when spun in one direction.
If it is spun in the opposite direction, it becomes unstable, "rattles" to a stop and reverses its spin to the preferred direction.
This spin-reversal behavior appears to violate
the law of the conservation of angular momentum.
