A souvenir purchased directly at the casino as a souvenir in 1990.

Packs like these were a way for the casinos to make extra money getting rid of table-used cards.
Casinos use multiple decks at once for table games, and they only use the cards for a short amount of time, for security reasons.
That's a LOT of cards to dispose of!
So the casinos came up with an idea that would make the patrons happy- and make the casinos some extra money.
The used cards are gathered up and then packaged in card boxes.
It's a random scramble of about 52 cards that are put into each box.
The packs are then sealed, and sold to patrons as souvenires, usually out of vending machines.
Frequently the entire pack, including the card box, has a hole drilled through it so there is no chance that the cards can be used again.
These are strictly meant as souvenirs- and quite a clever way of getting rid of waste!

Hôtel San Rémo, usually called simply The San Remo, was an Italian-themed hotel and casino located on 115 East Tropicana Avenue near the Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In 1989, the Polyesnian Hotel, which Originally opened in 1973 as the Howard Johnson Hotel, and then operated for several years as the Polynesian Hotel and Casino, was purchased by Japanese industrialist Sukeaki Izumi in 1989 for $30 million.
The Polynesian-theme was replaced with the theme of an Italian Riviera.
The hotel was named after Sanremo, a city in Italy.
In 2004, Hooters bought the San Remo and announced that it would be renovating all of its rooms and theme.
The hotel, with much of the original architecture intact, exists today as the Oyo Las Vegas.
