Colorful and very collectible!This poster was printed as promotional material for The Amazing Randi at the height of his performing career.Though in later years he made his reputation for his debunking of fake psychic phenomena and faith healing, Randi was an excellent stage illusionist.
The imagery on this poster shows him performing the Levitation effect.
Randi's career as a professional stage magician and escapologist began in 1946. Initially he performed under his real name, Randall Zwinge, which he later dropped in favor of "The Amazing Randi". Early in his career, he performed numerous escape acts from jail cells and safes. He even escaped from a strait jacket while hanging upside down over Niagara Falls. On February 7, 1956, he appeared live on The Today Show, where he remained for 104 minutes in a sealed metal coffin that had been submerged in a hotel swimming pool, breaking Houdini's record of 93 minutes.
CONDITION: good to very good. The poster has some moisture staining on the lower back which did not come through on the front.Lower center border has some darker age spots.SEE PHOTOS.
