Musical Encore: Funeral March Of a Marionette

Posted by Peter Monticup on 10/20/2020 to Monticup's Music

You recognize this song, right? But you probably did not know the name of it.
A short piece by Charles Gounod, it was originally written for solo piano in 1872 and orchestrated in 1879.
It's about the funeral procession for a marionette who has died in a duel.
And it's best known as the theme music for the television program Alfred Hitchcock Presents.

Since this is Halloween Week, I thought it was very appropriate!
