This is the set of instructions that came packaged with a circa 1880s French magic set.The Physique Amusante (Fun Physics) sets were made in Paris between 1884 and 1893.The sets were rather elaborate, consisting of 10-20 tricks made of wood and metal.
Physique Amusante magic sets typically bring upwards of $2,000 at auction today.And rarely do the sets sold include the instructions!
