Specially minted magic tokens and coins have been a part of magic acts for well over 150 years.
Many famous magicians have used them, especially magicians who specialized in palming and manipulation.
Others sold them to fans and collectors or gave them out as souvenirs.
Many of these tokens are very collectible, and some are now extremely hard to find.

This coin was issued both as a collectible and as a palming coin.
It is approximately the size of a U.S. half dollar coin.
As can be seen by the photos above, this was an especially thin palming coin, a very desirable kind of coin for working magicians.

Arthur Felsman was a magician, author, manufacturer and magic dealer who was born in 1888 and died in 1964.
In 1916, Felsman bought out the stock of the famous August Roterberg magic mail order business and continued to offer merchandise that was similar in appearance and construction to that made famous by Roterberg.
In the 1930s, he operated a traveling magic shop in the Midwest.
In 1941, he was co-owner (with Harry Blackstone) of the short-lived "Blackstone Magic Shop" in Oak Park, Illinois.
