Loved the ballon story. I still use the change bag I got as a kid (I think it was from a Gilbert magic set). I am 86 years old and still love performing.

John, As I age, (I just turned 80) I find it more and more difficult to remember how tricks are done (mostly card effects). My problem is not related to anything pathological, but is part of how I am aging. I remain pretty sharp in general . In addition to the memory problem, I find that my hands and fingers are not as flexible as they once were (that interferes with slights). I recently decided to "retire" from magic (I am a hobbyist). By retirement I mean that I no longer perform, no longer practice, and no longer learn new magic. In addition, given the pandemic, I don't have an audience any longer and virtual performance is not an option. You inspired me when you wrote that at age 86 you still enjoy performing. I don't want to impose on you, but do you have any suggestions for me? I really miss doing magic. Monti's weekly newsletter is my only contact with magic and is important to me. Sorry for the long and personal message.
