James Alfredson is an American magician, author and magic historian.

He was the editor of Magicol from 1973-88.

With George Daily, he cowrote the important A Bibliography of Conjuring Periodicals in English 1791-1983. He also wrote a biography on Jean Hugard and Newmann: The Pioneer Mentalist, a biography of C.A. George Newmann.
