It involves the numbers permanently embossed into a die.
You explain to your spectator that on every die, the numbers on the opposite sides add up to seven.The ONE is opposite the SIX, the TWO is opposite the FIVE, and the THREE is opposite the FOUR.Every die is made like that!In fact, as you are explaining, you are showing the sides of the dice.
But since you are a magician, you can make magic happen!You point out again that the ONE and the SIX are still opposite each other...But now the six is opposite the TWO!WHAT??!!Of course, your magic is not finished.You next make the six opposite the THREE, then opposite the FOUR, and then opposite the FIVE!
Finally, you show that the six is now opposite the ONE again.But wait- now the rest of the die is mixed up!The FIVE should be opposite the TWO, but it is now opposite the THREE!And the four, which should be opposite the three, is now opposite the TWO!
