The box is shown empty by opening the front and back flaps at the same time. The flaps are then closed up, and instantly you can produce a large amount of silks from the box! BUT WAIT- THAT'S NOT ALL! Water is then poured directly into the box. The front and back flaps are opened again to show the box EMPTY- the water has vanished! As the finale, you drape a silk over the top of the box and reach inside the box. You remove a full glass of water! As an added surprise, even though you poured CLEAR water into the box, the glass can be revealed filled with water that matches the color of the silk.
The box measures about 7" x 5" x 5.5" and is well made of painted wood.
This effect was invented by R. N. (Norm) Menge and sold beginning in 1955 as the Egyptian Water Box by Norm’s business partner, U.F. Grant.
You supply the silks and the liquids.
CONDITION: very good- looks gently used. You will need to supply ordinary silks.YOU WILL GET THE EXACT ITEM IN THE PRODUCT PHOTO ABOVE.

As an added surprise, even though you poured CLEAR water into the box, the glass can be revealed filled with water that matches the color of the silk.To do that, simply prepare the glass before the performance by putting a FEW drops of food coloring into the glass and let it dry on the bottom of the glass. When you pour water into the box, the food color will be activated.TIP: This works especially well if you use carbonated water, like seltzer or club soda.
