AN EXAMPLE OF AN ENTERTAINING SILK CABINET ROUTINE FROM YOU TUBE:
Beautiful dragon decal design!A blast from the past- hard to find in this condition! From the estate collection of a professional magician who gently used his props.
First introduced in the 1920s, the Silk Cabinet is one of those very visual and very easily presented tabletop illusions.
With this Silk Cabinet, you can perform any silk transposition or blendo effect you would like. Don’t limit this effect to only silks! You can use ropes, sponges or other items that will fit into the load chamber.
This device basically switches silks or similar items for you. Thus, there are many different routines possible. Here is one idea: Open the front and back doors to show that the box is empty. The frame on the sides each have a large hole. The doors are closed, and three white silks are pushed one at a time into the box. When the silks emerge on the other side, they have changed colors- and they are tied together! The box can be shown empty again.
The box is made of painted wood with a vivid and colorful dragon decal design. The top latch on one side is missing (see photos). However, most silk cabinets have no latches at all, so you just need to hold the sides together during performance.Or, of course, you can easily find similar latches on Amazon and replace it.There is some paint chipping on the base (see photos).Silks are NOT included.
