A great combination- and so easy to do!

Description

Like liquid tricks?
You'll get a lot of use out of this one!
It's BIZARRE!

Here is the routine:
Pick up an 8 ounce glass of milk from your table.
Pour the milk into a cone made from a rolled up piece of newspaper.
Leave just a bit of milk in the glass.
Pour the leftover milk into the smaller 4 ounce glass- the milk practically fills the smaller glass.
The cone does not get wet- the milk has vanished!
Now pour the milk from the 4 ounce glass into the larger glass.
And the milk now doubles in amount, filling the 8 ounce glass!
How is that possible??

This is a very easy and very visual effect.
Great for talent shows! Great in front of a classroom! Great birthday party trick!

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
Make sure to wash the glasses as soon as possible after use, or they will stain.
Use mild soap and warm water, a dry with a lint-free towel or cloth.
DO NOT USE abrasive cleanser or a scrub pad or you will scratch the plastic!

Tips & Ideas

Care Tips For the Milk Trick:

  • Keep it clean!
Make sure to thoroughly rinse and dry the plastic glasses as soon as possible after each use.
DO NOT use a regular scrubbing pad or any type of abrasive cleanser on the plastic, as it will cause scratches and make the glasses look cloudy.
The most effective and safe way to clean the outside of the glasses is with a sponge called SCRUB DADDY.
SCRUB DADDY transforms from a stiff scrubber into a soft sponge simply by soaking it in hot or cold water.
Most importantly, it cleans plastic without scratching.
First use it stiff, with a dish detergent like DAWN, and lightly scrub down the outside of each glass.
Then put the sponge in hot water, get it soft, and gently wipe away all the soap residue from the glasses.
You may dip the glasses in water to rinse, but use WARM (not hot!) water.
Next, fill each glass with WARM (not hot!) water and add a few drops of detergent to each glass.
Shake the glasses to get the soapy water inside. Let this sit for 10 minutes.
Then rinse all the glasses well.

  • Don't use real milk.
You probably should not use regular cow's milk with this routine, as milk can spoil quickly if not refrigerated and because of the fat content, can be difficult to rinse out of the glasses. Here are some options:
    • Option 1: Use soy milk, which comes in shelf-stable varieties and can be sipped during the routine to prove that it's real milk.
    • Option 2: Mix up some powdered milk just before showtime. Again, the milk can be sipped, and it is easy to transport because you keep it in powdered form until you use it.
    • Option 3: NOT RECOMMENDED to use the solution marketed as OOM. This is concentrated machinist's cutting oil which, when mixed with water, turns the water a milky color. It's not suitable to be ingested! It also has a strong smell; your audience will know it's not real milk, and will mistakenly think that the trick works by using some sort of fake milk. Plus the oil will cause your pitcher to discolor over time. Not good!
    • Option 4: Use water colored with food coloring. This trick can be performed as "lemonade" or "juice" instead of "milk". Colored liquids show up great from a distance.
  • Use a tray under the glasses
This trick is a bit messy, but that's what makes it convincing.
You WILL drip some milk as you pour, and that will prove to your audience that you are really pouring the milk (which you ARE!) rather than using some sealed gimmicked cup or something.
But you need to protect your performing surface from the spilled milk.
    Use a tray with handles.
The tray will let you move the set of glasses to your table when you are ready to perform the trick, and will let you easily take all the glasses away when you are done.
Plus, your table will stay clean and dry!
