VERY RARE MAGIC EFFECT!Circa 1920s - 100 years old! From the estate collection of a magic collector who took care of his props.
A blast from the past!A very early version of the popular Pom Pom Pole magic trick- made of BAKELITE!
Invented by Belgian scientist Leo Baekeland in 1907, Bakelite was one of the first plastic-like materials to be introduced into the modern world. It was popular because it could be easily molded and then hardened into any shape. For the first half of the 20th century, Bakelite was a wildly popular material, used in everything from industrial components to jewelry and kitchenware. And magic tricks!
DESCRIPTION FROM THE MANUFACTURER: A beautiful black wand is exhibited, with a string and tassel hanging at each end. The performer then pulls one string down, with the result that the opposite string goes up.This operation is repeated by alternately pulling opposite strings.
Though the instructions mention that the wand has color tips, it does not. Really old tricks often have mistakes or incorrect information in them, because it was not uncommon for tricks to go through several design changes without changing the printed instructions.
CONDITION: good.Shows some wear and age.Wand is about 5" long.Made of Bakelite.
