Petrie-Lewis Manufacturing Company (P&L) had its headquarters in New Haven, Connecticut from 1919 to 1968.
The company made a reputation for its quality magic tricks, especially metal tricks like the Drumhead Tube, the Chick Pan- and the Cups and Balls.
Their design for the Cups and Balls was influenced by the oldest designs found, dating back thousands of years.
Though nearly every other magic manufacturer has made the Cups and Balls with a more rounded edge, the P&L version had a more conical shape.
The unique shape allows the magician to maneuver the balls with more precision, more control.
And that is why P&L Cups have been treasured by professional magicians for decades.
These cups are faithful reproductions of the P&L Cups, even down to the P&L mark stamped on the bottom.
The Cups and Balls effect is one of the most recognizable tricks in magic!
Many professional magicians make the Cups and Balls the highlight of their performances, and for good reason.
This trick is a true classic, a real audience pleaser.
And this is the legendary P&L version!
Three cups, three balls.
Make the balls appear and disappear, travel from under one cup to another- many, many routines!
Easy to learn, but so amazing to see.
And this set is made in perfectly balanced and polished lightweight metal.
Gorgeous to look at, delightful to work with!
The cups stack perfectly on top of each other, giving you that extra "edge" in performing the more complex Cups and Balls moves.
What a great addition to your show!
And what an eyecatching display they make on your magic shelf!
Peter Monticup has a set sitting front and center on the fireplace mantle in his library!
