a compact version of the famous Hippity Hop Rabbit effect, this colorful comedy trick has a startling surprise climax - a great "sucker effect" in which the audience screams that they know "how it's done" just to discover they didn't know after all!
You start by showing a cute wooden cut-out of a grey rabbit. A cover, decorated with a top hat, is placed over the grey rabbit.
You declare that the rabbit will change color, and you turn the cover around. When you lift the cover, the rabbit is now brown. You cover the rabbit again, turn the cover around again, and now the grey rabbit is back under top hat cover.
Is it obvious to your audience that all you have done is turn the cover around, showing the back side of the grey rabbit as brown. That's the point!! You want the audience to "call you out" on your "secret"!If you perform this "magical switch" at least three times, the audience will become more excited and more vocal as the trick progresses. Yes, the rabbit changes color, but the audience can't miss the way you keep turning the cover (and the rabbit) throughout the sequence. "You're turning it around!", they'll insist. At the finish, they will be literally shouting at you to "turn it around" so they can prove to you that the grey rabbit has a brown rabbit on its reverse side. And that's exactly what you want to happen!
Because imagine the laughter and surprise and applause when you finally turn the rabbit around to reveal- a totally different and colorful bashful bunny!! Gets them every time!
Large, colorful and perfect for kid show performers!Hippity Hop Rabbits was a legendary effect, but a bit bulky and cumbersome to transport. And it's off the market now, not available anymore. Here is your chance to own a wonderful version of a tried-and-true favorite!
And that's all you need! The set includes the rabbit cutouts on a stand (about 10.5" high) plus a painted cover.
The Great Norman (Norman Hazeldene) introduced the concept for Hippity Hop Rabbits in 1947.
