The Candle Thru Arm has long been a favorite magical effect because it is so easy, yet it's a real showstopper. Now, this NEW AND IMPROVED version is better than ever because you can actually let the audience see right through the EMPTY tube before and after the trick!
This is a really startling visual illusion! First show that the tube is COMPLETELY EMPTY (yes- you can let the audience see through this tube!). Place your arm into the tube, completely filling it. Then pass a lit candle right through the cylinder- and through your arm!

Adults only if you want to use a lit candle. We do not recommend fire effects for anyone under 18 years of age. However, this is a very easy trick for younger magicians if the candle is not lit, or if you use another rod-type item instead of a candle (such as a magic wand, etc.).

Make the candle magically appear, and then pass it through your arm.You can use a rod or a broomstick instead of a candle. As long as the item fits into the gimmick, you can use it. A pool cue, a blackboard pointer, a thin cane, etc.Prove that the rod really does "go through" your arm by using a silk handkerchief. First, place the canister on your arm. Next, lay the handkerchief over the canister. Now poke a rod or broomstick through the hole- it will push the silk scarf through the hole with it, right through your arm.
