Pack of cards actually used in table play and sealed by the Caesars Palace casino.
A souvenir purchased directly at the casino as a souvenir in 1990.

Packs like these were a way for the casinos to make extra money getting rid of table-used cards.
Casinos use multiple decks at once for table games, and they only use the cards for a short amount of time, for security reasons.
That's a LOT of cards to dispose of!
So the casinos came up with an idea that would make the patrons happy- and make the casinos some extra money.
The used cards are gathered up and then packaged in card boxes.
It's a random scramble of about 52 cards that are put into each box.
The packs are then sealed, and sold to patrons as souvenires, usually out of vending machines.
Frequently the entire pack, including the card box, has a hole drilled through it so there is no chance that the cards can be used again.
These are strictly meant as souvenirs- and quite a clever way of getting rid of waste!

Caesars Palace is an iconic luxury hotel and casino in Las Vegas.
The hotel is situated on the west side of the Las Vegas Strip between Bellagio and The Mirage.
It is one of Las Vegas's largest and best known landmarks.
Caesars Palace was founded in 1966 by Jay Sarno and Stanley Mallin, who sought to create an opulent facility that gave guests a sense of life during the Roman Empire.
On December 31, 1967, stunt performer Evel Knievel arrived at the hotel to watch a boxing match and convinced Sarno that he could jump over the distance of 140 feet (43 m) over the fountains. ABC came in to film the jump, in which Knievel hit the top of the safety ramp after the jump and flew over his handlebars into the parking lot of neighbouring Dunes. Fracturing his pelvis, several bones and suffering a concussion, he lay in a hospital unconscious for 29 days in a coma before recovering.
