The classic design Sucker Die Box with TWO routines!
What's a Sucker Die Box?It's a trick where you "sucker" your audience into thinking they know how you did it- right up to the surprise ending!
Start by placing an empty hat or other container on your table. Show your audience a die and a nice blue wooden box. As you open all the doors, your spectators can see that the box is really empty!
Now you place the die into the left compartment and close the doors. Tell your audience that the block has "disappeared" and tilt the box to one side. But of course your audience can hear the die just sliding over into the right compartment! You open the left hand door to "prove" the block is gone. Of course, they tell you that the die just slid over into the other compartment!
So you close the door, tilt the box so the audience hears the die slide to the left compartment, and again tell them that the block is gone, opening the right side door this time. The audience will be very eager to tell you that the die has just slid over to the left- it has not really disappeared. Or so they think!
And here is where the magic happens! This time, you open the right side AND the left side doors at the same time- and the die is indeed gone!
And THEN you reach into the hat that was sitting on your table all along- and the die is in the hat!
Great effect that makes your audience crazy!
AND THIS ONE HAS A SECOND ROUTINE POSSIBILITY!Due to the construction of this box, your audience can actually SEE that the die has slid over to the other side!After tilting the box to make the die slide, you open the door to "prove" the die is gone."Accidentally" (you really mean to do this), you tilt the box so that the audience can see into the other section.And they will actually SEE the white die that has slid to the other side!They will be convinced that the die is still in the box.Which makes it even more startling in the next step, when you open all the doors to show that the die is completely gone.
