The BASHFUL LOCK is a classic puzzle trick that has fascinated spectators - and magicians!- for nearly 100 years.We carried it in all of our magic shops up until about 15 years ago, when it went off the market.Last year, we were able to purchase the remaining stock found on the back shelves of one of our suppliers.Those are also all gone now.
But we have been able to get another small supply of newly-made Locks from the original manufacturer!These look exactly the same as the original desing, and of course work the same way, too. The only difference is that these Locks are brand new. The first part of the video demo shows us using the EXACT lock you are buying.The second half of the demo shows us using the older version, which works the same way.
An intriguing little puzzle/trick, the Bashful Lock about quarter size and can even be operated by small hands. Don't be surprised if the kids figure it out before the adults do!
This lock actually had another function in earlier years.Made out of sturdier metal, it also had a small hole in it was used as a locking cigar cutter.It was successfully marketed for many years by Royal Magic- and that is the model we offer here.
Here is the routine:Show a small metal lock and ask a volunteer to open it. They can't. But when you take the lock behind your back (saying that it is a "bashful lock"), IT OPENS! Your spectator will think you used some kind of sleight of hand, but you explain that the lock only opens when it is hidden behind the back- because it is BASHFUL!The kicker is when you allow the spectator to place the lock behind THEIR back- and it opens!They do it in their own hands- but they don't know HOW!
