Is that an ALLIGATOR in the pond behind our warehouse??

This video was taken last spring, after about 10 days straight of heavy rainfall.
This guy seems to be having quite a good time swimming in our pond!

Okay- here's the real story...

This is a pretty big pond, and isolated, too.
Magic Tricks Inc. is located WAY out in the country in central Virginia.
It is a very tempting landing spot for Canadian geese.
LOTS and LOTS of Canadian geese.
Which would not be so bad except for the fact that big flocks of geese stay for several days, and walk up the hill to sun themselves right behind the warehouse.
And they leave behind lots of...

So a friend of ours recommended getting an alligator decoy, one that floats freely with the current and has GLOWING RED EYES.
So, we put the alligator in the pond.
Of course, I had to take video, because it was a windy day and the alligator was moving and looking very lifelike.

So- did it work?
Well, did you see the goose I filmed at the other end of the pond?
Within an hour, the goose had flown over and landed on the alligator's head, where he stayed for most of the rest of the day.
Turns out that northern geese have never seen an alligator, so they don't know to be afraid of the decoy.
Eventually over the summer, the alligator drifted down the runoff and probably made his way to the next pond down the line.
Hope those people have a sense of humor!
