LONG OFF THE MARKET - VINTAGE 1960'sFrom the collection of a retired professional magician.
Spotted by Henry Durkin was an effect made exclusively for Abbott Magic Co.It is a terrific "sucker effect"; that is, a trick where the magician makes the audience think they know how he's doing the magic, but then they are fooled with a surprise ending.
Effect: A large card with four black spots is shown. A wave of the card and two of the spots vanish. Another wave of the card and the two spots return. The audience, of course, tells the performer that they saw him just turn the card around. After a bit of byplay, with the performer denying that he merely turned the card around, the card is TRULY turned around, but now there are NO SPOTS in the other side! When the card is turned around again, there are FOUR spots, each a different color! BUT WAIT- THERE'S MORE!As a finale, the card opens up to reveal an eye chart, so the audience can test their eyes!
CONDITION: fair to good. The prop works perfectly. However, all sides of the paper covering have heavy foxing (age discoloration and spotting). You get the EXACT item you see in the photo.Board is made of paper covered cardboard. The board measures about 10" x 10".
