Specially minted magic tokens and coins have been a part of magic acts for well over 150 years.
Many famous magicians have used them, especially magicians who specialized in palming and manipulation.
Others sold them to fans and collectors or gave them out as souvenirs.
Many of these tokens are very collectible, and some are now extremely hard to find.

This coin was issued both as a collectible and as a palming coin.
It is approximately the size of a U.S. half dollar coin.
As can be seen by the photos above, this was an especially thin palming coin, a very desirable kind of coin for working magicians.

This coin was sold by Abbott's Magic Company.
In 1933, Percy Abbott opened Abbott's Magic Manufacturing Company with partner Recil Bordner.
Abbott's is still in operation today.

These palming coins were sold to Abbott's customers over the years, offered as recently as the late 1970s.
Abbott's also gave them out as souvenirs at the yearly Abbott's Get Together magic convention in Colon, Michigan.
