Daughter of vaudeville mentalists Doc Irving and "Princess Yvonne", Yvonne Papkin had learned her parents' secret code by age 3, and was a featured part of their act by the age of 8. Billed as "Baby Yvonne, The World's Youngest Mental Marvel", she was a wildly popular child entertainer for a few memorable years.
By the time she was in her teens, however, she had also developed a very strong and sophisticated singing voice. She graduated from the Ornstein School of Music in Philadelphia and left the magic act to pursue a career in opera.
According to the June 12, 1948 issue of Billboard magazine, Yvonne Loretta Papkin "made her operatic debut at the Bellevue Stratford Hotel in Philadelphia on June 2".
It is not known whether she had a career in opera, but she never went back into the mindreading act.
