CREDIT CARD PROTECTION POLICY

You want to be sure that a thief is not using your credit card to make unauthorized purchases. We make it VERY TOUGH for a thief to successfully place an order with us. We triple-check all cardholder information, we require signatures on insured packages, we do not allow "indirect delivery" or leaving of FedEx packages on a doorstep, and if we are in doubt about an order, we contact you for more information.

Further, we act quickly when we are notified that a thief has used your card to order from us. We credit your account, then we vigorously pursue the credit card thief.

We are honored and privileged to have you as a visitor. We will do our best to safeguard your private information.

YOUR INFORMATION STAYS WITH US. PERIOD.

We DO NOT sell, share or otherwise give your name, email address, street address or telephone number to ANYONE else. Ever.

In addition, we do not keep your credit card information in any computerized data base. No one can "hack" into our system and steal credit card information, because it's simply not there.

OUR RIGOROUS CREDIT CARD VERIFICATION PROCEDURE

We are extremely careful about verifying that the person using your credit card is really you, and not someone who has stolen your card. Our procedures may sometimes slow your order, or may inconvenience you by requiring that you provide us with additional information, but in the long run the precautions are in place to protect you. We appreciate your cooperation.

When an order is taken over the phone, we require that only the person whose name is on the card place the order. When it is apparent that the cardholder is not the person on the phone (for example, when a child calls), our operators will ask that the cardholder come to the phone and give approval for the charge. If the cardholder is not available, the order will not be accepted.
In processing a credit card, we require that you provide the address to which the credit card company sends you your monthly bills. When we send the order information to the credit card processor, the processor electronically tries to match the billing address you've given us with the billing address that is on file with your credit card company. If the two do not match, the card is declined. The reasoning is that a thief may have your credit card information (name, credit card number and expiration date), but probably does not know your billing address.
For certain orders (especially overseas orders and/or expensive orders), we may also ask you to give us a secret code that your credit card company has placed on your card. You will have to look at the card to give us the code we need. The reasoning is that a thief will probably not have your actual card in his/her possession, and will not be able to give us this code.
We may also phone you personally before we process your order.
The charge will appear as paid to "Magic Tricks" on your credit card statement.

We are extremely careful about verifying that the person using your credit card is really you, and not someone who has stolen your card. Our procedures may sometimes slow your order, or may inconvenience you by requiring that you provide us with additional information, but in the long run the precautions are in place to protect you. WHAT TO DO IF YOU HAVE BEEN BILLED FOR AN ORDER
THAT YOU DID NOT PLACE

If you are reading this section because you have received your credit card bill with a charge for an order that you did not place with us, and that you did not receive, please notify us at once at 1-540-832-0900.

If someone has stolen your card information, we will credit your account immediately. PLEASE BE SURE TO CANCEL THE CARD NOW, IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY DONE SO!
We will also notify the credit card company, and give them any information we have about the fraud (address to which the order was shipped, IP address of the computer used to place the order, telephone number used to place the order, etc). If you would like a copy of this information for your records, just ask us.
In certain situations, we will also file a police report, notify the ISP to help us track the person who placed the order (AOL is very cooperative with the police in this regard) and file a report with the US Postal Service.
In short, we take care to be sure that each order placed is legitimate. If yours was not, we are also very responsive and will take care of the problem quickly.
PLEASE NOTE: You ARE obligated to pay for an order if someone in your household uses your credit card to place that order! You will be required to pay for any order that is placed with your credit card and shipped to your billing address. It is your responsibility to keep your card out of the hands of others in your household. By law, only the credit card holder is allowed to use the credit card issued in his/her name. You assume full responsibility for the proper use of your card. We are NOT RESPONSIBLE for detecting or preventing the unauthorized use of your card by members of your own household/family.

Our secure server software encrypts all of your personal information including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read as the information travels over the Internet. We also take every precaution to protect your information once we receive it. In the unlikely event of unauthorized use of your credit card, most banks either cover all the charges that result from the unauthorized use or may limit your liability to $50. If you still have concerns about submitting sensitive information to us over the Internet, please place your order by calling 1-540-832-0900 and speaking to a live operator.

We strongly recommend placing your order using the secured shopping cart, or through our toll-free number. If you choose to send your credit card number to us using the unsecured email order form, or your own email message, or a fax, and if you are concerned about security, we recommend sending the credit card number in two separate emails or faxes (the first email or fax containing the first two sets of numbers, and the second email or fax containing the second two sets of numbers plus the expiration date).

Of course, you can alternatively send the order by regular mail.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TRUST

Of course we want you to be comfortable with the information you give us when placing an order or otherwise corresponding with us. If you have any other questions or concerns, please contact us.
