Hilarious mindreading routine!
The Magic 8 Ball novelty made into a hilarious and amazing magic trick! A whole mindreading/comedy card trick in the palm of your hand! Best of all, it's a participation trick that plays BIG!
Everybody knows what a Magic 8 Ball is- and how much fun it can be! The Magic 8 Ball has a window on the bottom, and after you shake it, the "answer" to your question is revealed in the window.
And now for the magic part! The effect is simple: let two spectators each choose a playing card. Ask them to concentrate on their cards, then pick up the MindBall and turn it over. When they turn over the MindBall and look in the window, the name of the playing card that each person chose is revealed- as well as whose card is whose!
Of course, this effect is easily made into a whole routine, as the MindBall may immediately name the card, or it may give another message first. It's easy to come up with a "what if" joke or line for each of the messages, so you can use that joke "if" that praticular message is revealed first. An example: one of the messages on the MindBall says "I hope this works". If the person turns over the ball and reads this message out loud, you say "Yes, I hope this works, too! Thanks, though, for the vote of confidence..."
MindBall is an incredibly effective mindreading card trick, and one of the few tricks that you can EASILY mold to your own personal style. And because you really don't know what messages will come up, each time you do the trick, it's different!
