John Albenice was an American club magician and author who specialized in magic with retracting reels.
He invented the Serpent Silk trick, and wrote Reel Magic, a book of tricks with reels, which is still in print today.
Albenice died of a heart attack at the Ambassador Hotel in New York City, just minutes before going onstage with his act, "Albenice and His Baby Chicks".
