Delightful kids' magic taken to the extreme! Kids love to make noise. And this really makes noise! Here's how it goes:
You drag out a funny looking box and proclaim, "Here is my Crazy Washing Machine. Why is it called the Crazy Washing Machine? Beacuse you have to be crazy to use it! So it's just the thing for me! This marvelous machine will wash clothes and use no water or soap!” Ask for a volunteer. Tell the child he is going to load the machine with clothes to wash. Hand him a pair of visibly dirty socks (white ones that you have colored in spots with a colored marker), which will be hilarious. Let him drop the socks into the machine, and close the lid.
Let him turn the crank on the machine- and loud ratcheting clatter noises fill the air! Kids love the noise!
When you open the lid, the socks are now clean!
Repeat the routine, and the clean white socks shrink to very small white socks!
Repeat again, and the small white socks turn into large red ones! This prop washer is capable of making four changes. Of course, you can choose what you want to change, and you choose the items you want to change into. There are so many possibilities! Take a new silk and put holes in it. Or take a "hole-y" silk and make it whole again. Change the color of the silk, or make the silk multiply. It's easy to make your own customized routine! Best of all, the secret is easy to keep from spectators. There are no tricky angles, no black art. The prop can be shown empty ANYTIME. And your volunteer can participate without being wise to the workings of the trick! Washer measures 10½ inches by 14 inches high and 7 inches deep.
