Did you know that a deck of cards is like a calendar? YES! There are 52 cards in a deck- and 52 weeks in a year. There are four seasons- and four card suits. Each season has 13 weeks- and there are 13 cards in each suit. If you count the number of pips on all the cards in the deck, the total is 365- the same number of days in a year. Wow! And that's the basis of Chronologue.
Ask your spectator to think of a date (perhaps his birthday). Hand him your Chronologue book, which is really a datebook, and have him find the page with his date on it. Point out that there is the name of a card written next to his chosen date- in fact, there is a card name written next to EVERY date, and he should take notice that the card names are random, and are all different.
Let your spectator read the name of the card out loud. Take the Chronologue back, and remove an envelope from the inside cover. Open the envelope- there is a SINGLE card inside. That card is the spectator's named card!
AND IT'S EASY! If you can take a card out of an envelope, you can do the trick! The Chronologue does all the work, and you get all the applause!
