This is the trick that everyone will remember! It's easy, it's fun- and there are so many different ways to do it that you'll use it in every show!
The basic effect is this: Show a straw mat on both sides. Fold it in half, then place an egg into the fold. Drop one side of the mat- but the egg doesn't fall out- it has vanished! Fold the mat in half again and reach into it- the egg has reappeared inside the mat!
The easy to handle gimmick supplied makes it so simple to use the mat and the wooden egg that comes with the trick. Even small hands can handle this one!
This is not a new trick- it's been around for many years. But this is the IMPROVED version. What's improved? The mat is much higher quality now, and the instructions are much better! If you had this in the past, you owe it to yourself to UPGRADE to the improved version. And if you've never owned this trick- GET ONE!
If you want to do more advanced routines with this trick, all you need to do is to switch the wooden egg for another item. After you produce the egg, you can put the wooden egg into your pocket and secretly switch it for another item, which you then produce out of the mat.
Make the egg vanish and reappear several times. Finally, make the egg vanish, fold up the mat- and pull out a LEMON!
Make the egg vanish and reappear several times. Finally, change the egg into a WHITE SILK!
Show the mat empty, then produce an egg. Put the egg into your pocket, or into a hat. Produce another egg, then another and another, showing the mat empty every time.
Make the egg vanish and reappear several times. Finally, produce the egg one last time, and CRACK IT OPEN INTO A GLASS to show that it is a real egg!
Joe Karson is credited with introducing the Chinese Egg Bag trick, done with a mat. He also introduced the Zombie Floating Ball trick.Interested in magic history? Visit our free online Magic Library, full of biographies of famous magicians plus lots of magic history and trivia!
