Startling and surprising! Definitely an unexpected effect! Your deck of cards suddenly shoots into the air all by itself!
There are many ways to use this great prop, but here's one idea: Let your spectator choose a card from the deck, and even sign it if he wants. Place the card back into the deck, and place the deck into a top hat, a box, a paper bag- you choose what works for you. After a few seconds, the cards SHOOT out of the hat in a fast streaming FOUNTAIN! You reach into the stream and BAM! You grab a card right out of the stream. It's the spectator's card!
And it doesn't even have to be used as part of a trick. Imagine this comedy routine: Tell your audience that you need to clean up a bit before performing your next effect. Take a few of the items that are laying about on your table (a silk scarf, a few coins, a couple of sponge balls, etc.) and drop them into the hat to "put them away". Lastly, take your deck of cards, make a big deal about squaring up the cards into a neat deck, and place the cards into the hat. Turn your back on the hat as you look around to make sure that everything is nice and neat, and BRRRRPPPP! The cards come flying out of the hat all by themselves, making a messy pile on the stage!

Please be aware that the mechanics of any Card Fountain do make a bit of noise. If you want to do this effect as a total mystery, you may choose to perform it to music, which will cover the noise. Otherwise, it's a comedy effect, and the noise is just part of the routine!
