ADELAIDE HERRMANN
(1875-1944)
Born: England
Birthday: August 19
Real Name: Adelaide Scarcez
Adelaide Herrmann was wife of Alexander Herrmann, and an accomplished magician. Working for many years as the chief assistant to her husband, she continued with the show as "The Queen of Magic" after his death in 1896.

At first in partnership with her husband's nephew, Leon Herrmann, she eventually had her own successful act with an Oriental theme (designed for her by Chung Ling Soo). She was one of the few women who ever performed the potentially deadly Bullet Catch. She retired in 1928.
