Carleton Carpenter was a movie,
television and stage actor as well as an author and songwriter as
well as being a magician. Before signing to
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, he performed as magician/actor on Broadway. His
biggest break came when he was paired with Debbie Reynolds in movies
such as Three Little Words and Two Weeks With Love
(which featured the smash hit duet "Aba Daba Honeymoon").
Starting in the 1960s, he gained fame
as a best-selling author of mystery novels, including Sleight of
Hand and Deadhead, which was turned into a short-lived
Broadway production.
