Allan was an Austrian magician and author, famous for his smooth style and clever card skills.
He began his career in 1925, and for some 20 years performed mainly as a society magician in Europe.
After WWII, he settled in Vienna, where he had a second career training the police in the methods used by card cheats. In fact, he wrote a book about the subject, titled Wrong Spirits, Real Swindlers in 1969.
